標題: 黃色晶片
各Ching Ctse, 你們經常南征北戰, 參加無數比賽, 我想問大家會用自己的黃色晶片, 或是每次都交按金拿大會的晶片? 如經常參加賽事, 黃色晶片好似較方便, 但不知收費如何, 好似除要購買它外, 每年要再付年費. 有否使用黃色晶片的ching ctse 賜教!!

I bought this one a few years ago. This type of timing chip is becoming obsolete in North America. The Las Vegas Marathon, Los Angeles Marathon, Honolulu Marathon and Philadelphia Marathon have switched to a disposable paper type timing chip last year. So after 26.2 miles of running, the runner no longer needs to lift up his/her foot for the volunteer to take off the chip from the shoe anymore. The timing chip becomes the souvenir for the runner.

Alex hing, here is the back of the disposable paper timing chip. Pretty high tech stuff! I think it will be used by HK races eventually.

Oh I C! It's Avery Dennison RFID chip, something similar to the security tag using in HK. Yes, it's cheap and disposable. But I thing it cannot be used for water sport, triathlon, IRONMAN, .....

So how about (heavy) rain during the race? Would the paper chip be damaged too?

May be?! Better to insert the paper tag underneath your feet if rainning.

7,000 runners at the Honolulu marathon last year didn't get their finish time recorded due to heavy rain. I was lucky though. Guess what, they were using this disposable timing device. But the company has since changed the paper to waterproof paper and it is fine now to use.

不過，最重要還是視乎個人需要。

其實有啲chips係一次性，無需歸還，只不過香港唔流行用之嘛。另我見過香港有啲比賽個number bib上有bar code，唔知衝線點掃個bar code。

It sound funny. After crossing the finished line, a guy will told you to stop and then using a handheld scanner to scan your barcode for record.

I'd met this case in Southern District Cross Race which held on Aberdeen Country Park this month.

Actually only housing is expensive in Hawaii. $2 a cup of coffee at a Starbucks in Las Vegas and the same in Honolulu also. Because it is part of the states, the federal government regulates a lot of things. But on the other hand if you want to buy a house in Hawaii, you better work two jobs though. I like to relocate to Hawaii but my wife doesn't want to. So I told her I am going to run the Honolulu Marathon every year

. No permit is needed from her

! Have you been there before? It is a nice place to visit, very nice and friendly people, not like mainland USA full of crooks.

$300 一次過可以自己出旺角買, 關鍵並非參賽多少,而係唔使次次開多張支票咁煩.

不過第一次用就唔記得帶,好在早出門口,中途醒起回程囉返.
