Distances/competitionsThe Bagan Temple Marathon features two competitive distances, a full marathon and a half marathon. Both distances start and finish at the same time and place. RegistrationRegistration is open. Sign up for the Bagan Temple Marathon here (you will be redirected to our Albatros Adventure website). EligibilityFull marathon runners must be minimum 18 years old on race day. Half marathon runners must be at least 16 years old. Start and finish The marathon and half marathon start and finish in front of Htilominlo Temple. It is possible to deposit bags with personal items for use after the race. Although the finish area is manned, depositing personal belongings in the area is entirely each runner’s responsibility and the marathon organisers are not responsible for loss or damage of personal belongings. TimeThe race starts at 6:00 in the morning. Cut-off time is 7 hours. All runners still on the course after 13:00 will be picked up and driven to the finish line. SurfaceA mixture of gravel and sand on trails and roads. Some stretches of the route are on paved roads. The route is relatively flat. Time-takingThe race is timed electronically by Ultimate Sports Service using the AMB Chip system, which will record each runners individual net time. The chip must be returned after finishing. Result lists will be published at the celebration dinner the following day and online as soon as the local internet connection allows it. Race officialsThe race officials reserve the right to change the course and other aspects of the race without advance notice. Please note that all decisions made by the race officials and/or medical team are final. Medical teamOn race day, a team of doctors and paramedics will provide medical assistance to runners in need. The medical team reserves the right to remove any runner who is unable to complete the race. Please note that all decisions made by the medical team or race officials are final. The medical team will consist of Danish doctors and local paramedics. Supplies on the routeThere will be water stations along the route. Some stations will also serve energy drinks and bananas. Personal supplies can be deposited at certain water stations. More details about route supplies will follow. ClothingThe weather in November is hot and humid with temperatures reaching highs of around 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit). Light-coloured clothing, short-sleeve technical shirts are a good choice as sweat is not absorbed (like cotton), sun block is a must (use SPF30 or above), a running hat with visor is also advisable as it can help keep the sun out of your eyes. Race/bib numbersYou will receive your bib number in the goodie bag we will be handing out the day before race day. AwardsAll finishers receive a medal. A small, symbolic prize is given to the winner of both distances for men and women. Please note that there is no prize money. - See more at: http://bagan-temple-marathon.com/race-info#sthash.bYzNuolB.dpuf
