I'd never pay to learn running ...
Different strategies / training methods should be suitable for different people ~
Hiring or paying a coach to learn how to run faster regularly? Unless you are planning to turn pro, definitely not a popular thing here in North America. The closest you get here is joining a group of beginner runners meeting up on a few weekends learning the very BASIC of running. I know many runners of all levels, none of them have gone through any running programs. There are tons of running books in the bookstores teaching you how to run, setting up training plans and all that. Also, the lifestyle in HK is different than in North America. Here, people usually eat dinner at around 5pm and go to bed by 10pm. When I was in HK, I was amazed seeing many runners still practicing on tracks at 10pm!!!! That said, there is no public running tracks here in Vegas at all. |
