Re: [Road Race] UNICEF Disneyland 10km and Half Marathon Charity

For the 10 km route, approximately around the 2.3 km the route begins a long, gradual climb on Sunny Bay Road before a slightly steeper, shorter descent to the turnaroudn point at approximately 4 km. You then return up the steeper, shorter hill and descend the longer more gradual hill. After you turn right into the arboretum, the course is almost completely flat to the finish.
For the half marathon, approximately around the 2.3 km the route begins a long, gradual climb on Sunny Bay Road before a slightly steeper, shorter descent past the 4 km mark where the 10 km turns around. The gradient then gets slightly steeper to return to sea level. Following another long, flat section, there is gradual incline shortly after passing Sunny Bay MTR station with corresponding descent on the far side. Quite minor. The tunnel under the main highway is short, but does have a 50 meter ramp down hill and another one back up the other side. The next section on Cheung Tung Road is flat to slightly undulating. The toughest climb of the race begins after the 14 km mark and includes a slightly steep section back up to Sunny Bay Road, past the 10 km turn around spot and another 0.5 km or so of climbing to reach the high point first passed in the other direction slightly after the 3 km mark. Its downhill or flat from here to the finish.
Overall, the 10 km and half marathon are 2 of the flattest courses in HK, probably only surpassed for flatness by Shatin-Taipo courses along the water.
